The last Bentley Mulsanne returns to its home after serving the Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The bespoke Mulsanne will rest in the Heritage Collection alongside other special Bentley models.
The last Bentley Mulsanne ever produced, which happens to be a 2020 Mulsanne extended long wheelbase, was specially commissioned to serve the royal household. The hand-built luxury sedan featured a range of bespoke additions. It was finished in a special solid Barnato green, paired with an interior in Twine and Cumbrian hide, Burr Walnut wood veneers and deep lambswool carpets.
Furthermore, Bentley also added rear privacy curtains and the Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom inlaid into the door waist rails. In addition, the front centre armrest was also removed in favour of a customised tray to accommodate the Queen’s handbag. The bespoke model also features discrete police lights, a siren and a bullhorn, which can be operated from a dedicated switch panel hidden beneath the gear selector.
It also featured 21” alloy wheels, chrome brightware for the grille, front wing vents and the iconic Flying B. The engine on the bespoke Mulsanne was the same 6.75-litre V8 engine producing 537PS of power, which did duty on regular Mulsanne models.
The Mulsanne returns to its home in Crewe, where it was first handcrafted. The model will now rest alongside the second Mulsanne ever built, featuring VIN 0002 from 2010 and a 2019 Mulsanne Speed. The Bentley Heritage Collection boasts a 45-car collection, demonstrating the 104-year-old history of Bentley. This includes everything from the oldest Bentley in the world (1919 3-litre EXP2) to the 2021 Bentley Continental GT Speed.
Speaking about the Mulsanne, the flagship luxury sedan from Bentley made its debut back in 2009. The first Bentley Mulsanne featured the revised 6.75-litre V8 engine, a new chassis and a completely new interior and exterior design. The year 2016 witnessed the introduction of the new Mulsanne, which featured a design overhaul alongside the addition of the Extended Wheelbase model.
In 2020, Bentley commenced the production of the Mulsanne alongside its famed 6.75L V8 engine with a final 30-series Mulliner edition. With its production extending to a decade, Bentley produced 7,300 fine examples of its flagship sedan, each of which was handcrafted at the factory in Crewe.
