Ferrari 499P Modificata

At the Ferrari World Finals held at the Mugello Circuit, Ferrari unveiled the 499P Modificata, an exclusive limited-series vehicle designed for non-competitive track enthusiasts. This unveiling marked a significant moment, celebrating Ferrari's triumphant return to the premier class of endurance racing for the 2023 season.

Crafted for an exceptionally exclusive group of enthusiasts, the 499P Modificata embodies a novel approach for Ferrari. It is a track-exclusive model born directly from a racing car, unfettered by the constraints typically imposed by technical regulations, setting it apart from traditional production models.

The 499P Modificata represents a significantly enhanced iteration of the 499P, which achieved victory in the Centenary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June 2023. Its primary objective is to establish a fresh standard for exhilarating track performance.

While the internal combustion engine (ICE) shares its architecture with the power unit installed in the 296 GT3, Ferrari's engineering team has undertaken a comprehensive revision to create specialized solutions and reduce the overall weight.

The tail is characterised by a horizontal double wing, with the upper profile carefully designed to produce the required downforce. The lower wing also houses a light bar that lends the design of the rear end a decisive, minimalist character.

The powertrain features a 200 kW (272 cv) electric motor complete with a differential and an Energy Recovery System (ERS) designed to replenish the battery through regenerative braking and deceleration.

The hybrid powertrain of the Ferrari 499P Modificata melds a mid-rear positioned V6 internal combustion engine with an electric motor integrated into the front axle. This configuration empowers the system to unleash a formidable maximum power output of 640 kW (870 cv), unrestricted by FIA-ACO regulations.

The Ferrari 499P Modificata preserves the cockpit's single-seater layout and the ergonomic design found in the 499P. This ensures that clients can enjoy an identical driving experience to the racing crews who piloted cars #50 and #51 to victory, securing Hyperpole and the fastest lap at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

A multiple air intake for the V6 engine and for cooling the battery and gearbox dominates the car's roof.
