Renault Group and Alpine have concluded the investment agreement with Otro Capital, injecting EUR 200 million into Alpine Racing Ltd, based in England. The deal, announced on 26 June 2023, comprises a 24% equity stake in Alpine Racing Ltd, strategically supporting Alpine’s growth trajectory and its ambitions in Formula 1. As part of the agreement, Alec Scheiner, co-founder, and partner of Otro Capital, has assumed a position on the board of Alpine Racing Ltd.
Transaction overview
The EUR 200 million investments, resulting in a 24% equity stake, values Alpine Racing Ltd at approximately USD 900 million post-transaction. This financial injection is earmarked to fortify Alpine’s global presence in Formula 1 across various domains, including media, sponsorship, ticketing, hospitality, commercial rights management, licensing, and merchandising.
Alpine’s growth strategy
The investment aligns with Alpine’s overarching strategy to bolster its Formula 1 image and expand its footprint on a global scale. The funds will be strategically utilised to enhance Alpine’s capabilities across multiple facets of the Formula 1 ecosystem.

On 17 October 2023, Otro Capital welcomed renowned athletes and sports investors into its investor group, further fortifying its strategic partnership with Alpine F1. Notable figures include:

- Travis Kelce: Kansas City Chiefs tight-end, eight-time consecutive NFL Pro-Bowl, and two-time Super Bowl champion.
- Rory McIlroy: Four-time golf major championship winner, currently ranked #2 in the world.
- Anthony Joshua: Olympic boxing gold medallist and two-time former unified world heavyweight champion.
- Trent Alexander-Arnold: England international soccer player and Champion’s League and Premier League champion with Liverpool F.C.

Securing the fourth position in the 2022 Constructors’ Championship, the team continues its pursuit of excellence in Formula 1.
