Ather expands its reach in India with the introduction of the new Rizta family electric scooter. While it shares a part of its underpinnings with the 450X, the Rizta brings a lot of practicality to the table like segment-largest seat and boot space, to name a few.
Thanks to intelligent packaging and a low-set subframe, the Rizta manages to offer 34L of underseat storage, which is further complemented by an optional accessory bag with 22L storage. Furthermore, Ather also offers an underseat organiser that also doubles up as a carry bag for the weekly grocery runs.
Coming to the mechanicals, the Rizta comes with a choice of two battery pack options — 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh —- both of which are borrowed from the 450X. Ather claims a true range of 125km and 105km with the 3.7kWh and 2.9kWh battery packs, respectively. In addition, the smaller battery pack comes with a 350W portable charger while the larger battery pack offers the 700W charger, which also doubles up as a wallbox charger.
Speaking of its features, the Ather Rizta offers a few innovative features that have not been seen before. The first one is the new Skid Control features, which uses the speed sensor at the front wheel and syncs the speed with the rear wheel by modulating the motor torque up to thousand times a second thereby illuminating the risk of unwanted wheel slippage.
Furthermore, the Rizta offers something called Magic Twist that enables the rider to twist the throttle in the opposite direction to optimise brake energy regeneration intensity. Other features of the Rizta include auto hold, reverse mode, emergency stop signal, fall motor disconnect and two riding modes — Zip and SmartEco.
Ather has launched the Rizta in two variants — S and Z and the latter offers the choice between small and large battery pack. The introductory prices of the Ather Rizta begin from INR 1.10 lakh for the S 2.9kWh battery and go to INR 1.45 lakh for the Z 3.7kWh battery. The Rizta Z is also available with the smaller 2.9kWh battery pack at INR 1.25 lakh. All prices mentioned above are introductory for a limited time period.
