The McMurtry Spéirling PURE fan car has shattered lap time records at the Hockenheimring F1 circuit in Germany. During a two-day track day event on June 7th and 8th, the car was showcased to potential customers and put through its paces.
Record-Breaking Performance
The highlight of the event came on June 8th when former F1 driver Max Chilton, piloting the Spéirling PURE at 75% power and downforce, clocked a blistering lap time of 1:24.43 on the 2.842-mile circuit. This time, verified by independent timekeepers, is a staggering 14.1 seconds faster than the record set by the exclusive Mercedes-AMG One in 2022. Furthermore, it eclipsed the 2020 DTM qualifying time by 3.907 seconds, making the Spéirling PURE the fastest closed-wheel car to ever lap Hockenheimring.
