Maserati has taken the wraps off the new GranCabrio Folgore, which is the all-electric derivative of the ICE-powered GranCabrio. It is also the fastest all-electric convertible coupe with a retractable rooftop money can buy.
A few of its key highlights include a fabric folding roof, 800V architecture, three electric motors and a comfortable 4-seater configuration.
The folding roof mechanism of the GranCabrio can be opened and closed in 14 and 16 seconds, respectively at speeds of up to 50kmph.
The interior of the GranCabrio Folgore comes draped in high-quality materials and loaded with new-age technology. The highlight of the new GranCabrio is its innovative 12.3-inch central infotainment system that also incorporates an 8.8-inch comfort display.
Like its ICE sibling, the GranCabrio Folgore offers a 2+2 seating layout with enough space and comfort for all of its occupants. It also offers features such as neck warmers and wind deflector for varied use cases.
The GranCabrio comes with three electric motors and two of these sit at the rear axle, enabling it to offer active torque vectoring. It also offers a slew of driving modes including an Endurance mode that offers prolonged peak performance for track usage.
In addition to an array of standard and special exterior colour options, Maserati offers five different fabric colour options for the folding roof - Nero, Blue Marine, Titan Grey, Greige and Granata
The new GranCabrio Folgore draws power from a 92.5kWh battery pack, out of which 83kWh is usable capacity. Its electric motors offer a combined power and torque output of 761PS and 1350Nm and the former can be increased to 830PS with the Maxboost! With the help of a 270kW DC fast charger, the GranCabrio can replenish its battery from 20-80% in under 18 minutes.
